 If
you are a new business, or are thinking of starting
up a new business, then we have something that could
well be of interest to you in these difficult times.
Calne
Chamber and the Wessex Chamber of Commerce have
their launched their New Business Startup
Competition for 2009 with prize money available of
up to £3,000 plus a range of free services and
discount on products from local businesses and
suppliers. Anyone who started their business
after the 26th September 2008, or is planning to
start trading before 30th November 2009, is are
eligible to enter this competition.
To
encourage young and new businesses in our community,
the competition gives each applicant the following
benefits:

Each applicant must become a member of
the Calne Chamber of Commerce.

Support from the business mentor team within the
Chamber – this is a team of solicitors,
accountants and other business professionals who
will provide support and advice.

Member to member benefits and discounts
throughout the Calne business community.

Regular networking opportunity to help grow your
business.

Help and advice from Calne Chamber members and
also from Business Link on preparing your
competition entry and your business plan.

Discounts from the competition sponsors
including printers, banks, and training.

£1,000 prize for the winner of the Calne new
business of the year and local press publicity.

The winner of the Calne new business competition
will be entered into the overall Wessex
competition with chance to win a further £2,000
in prize money plus £500 of free advertising,
£500 media awareness training course, three day
business start-up course and £250 of free
printing for the winner

2nd and 3rd place runners-up in the overall
Wessex competition will also receive cash
prizes.
